Koala Power Wheelchair Expands to fit a ChildThe Chairman KOALA™ is built with the same rugged motors and front-wheel drive technology of Permobil’s full-size adult power wheelchairs but is scaled to fit the needs of a child. The KOALA provides the child with comfort, mobility and independence through the years of rapid growth from toddler to teenager because its Miniflex™ seating system can be expanded as the child grows. Permobil’s proven front-wheel drive system can climb curbs up to 2.5 inches high, has pivoting rear wheels for responsive steering and is designed to keep all four wheels on the ground. Compared to a standard rear wheel drive chair, the KOALA base is shorter and narrower for greater maneuverability. Offering power steering with a joystick, the KOALA has electronics that can be programmed to meet the user’s requirements. Back |
